Dear Susquehanna Valley RTS Middle School Families,

Welcome to the 2024-2025 school year! I hope that you’ve had a restful and enjoyable summer. As we prepare to embark on another exciting school year, I wanted to take a moment to extend a warm welcome back to all our returning families, and a special welcome to our new families joining the Susquehanna Valley community.

We are especially excited to welcome our new 6th-grade students and their families to our middle school. Transitioning to middle school is a significant milestone, and we look forward to getting to know you as you become part of our school family. Our teachers, staff, and administrators are here to support you every step of the way. We can’t wait to see all the wonderful things you’ll achieve and the growth you’ll experience during your time with us.

For those of you who are new to the district, we are thrilled to have you join our vibrant community. We believe that your family will quickly feel at home here, and we are committed to ensuring a positive and welcoming experience for you and your children. We pride ourselves on fostering a supportive and inclusive environment that nurtures each student’s academic, social, and emotional growth.

At Susquehanna Valley Middle School, we strive to create a learning environment where students are encouraged to reach their full potential, challenge themselves, and build lasting relationships with peers and staff. This year, we are ready to embrace new opportunities, inspire creativity, and celebrate the unique talents of every student.

Dear Susquehanna Valley Middle RTS School Families,

I am excited to welcome you all back to another great year at RTS! Whether you’re returning or joining us for the first time, I look forward to working with you and your children to make this school year a success.

As we kick off the year, I want to take a moment to remind everyone of our school policies, particularly regarding cell phones. To maintain a focused learning environment, students' cell phones should be off or on silent and not visible during the school day. This policy helps minimize distractions and keeps our students engaged in their education.

Additionally, I’d like to emphasize the importance of following school rules, in the classroom, lunchroom, hallway and on the bus, as this ensures a safe and respectful environment for everyone. Your partnership in reinforcing these expectations at home is greatly appreciated.

If you have any concerns or questions throughout the year, please do not hesitate to contact me. We are here to support you and your children in any way we can.

RTS will be having Open House on Tuesday, September 17th from 6-7pm. Be on the lookout for a more detailed schedule!

5:30pm meeting for Academic Intervention Services (AIS) and accelerated families. Location to be determined.

RTS Picture days will be held on Thursday, September 19th and Friday, September 20th. Picture forms will be sent out the week of September 9th. Please send the form with your student on or before Picture Day. Students will have their pictures taken during their PE classes. You may also order online! See below.
